Our Story
When Chris and Amanda met on the dance floor, they had an instant connection...and some phenomenal dances! After one conversation, they realized they were soul mates. They shared the same sense of humor, the same faults, the same strengths, the same hopes and dreams, and the same urge to make those closest to them happy at any cost. They immediately became best friends. Since they lived 2,000 miles apart, they never spent more than a few days around each other. Nevertheless, for three years, Chris and Amanda were each other's refuge from sadness, fount of hilarity, and source of understanding. They promised to always be there for each other, no matter what happened in their lives.
After Amanda's mother passed away in 2011, Chris decided to spend a month in Boston to support Amanda through her difficult time and to consider his own life direction with her guidance. It only took a few weeks for them to realize they couldn't bear to live without each other. They fell deeply in love and Chris moved to Boston three months later. Since then, they have spent every possible moment together, in complete euphoria, wondering how they both could be so lucky. They are the best example of why you should keep calm, carry on, and marry your best friend.

The Proposal
Chris and Amanda were shopping for their first Christmas together. Chris was taking her out to dinner that night for her birthday (to one of her favorite restaurants, Lala Rokh). He suggested that they pick out a birthday gift for her together. Chris gently nudged her in the direction of the jewelry store and casually suggested she pick out a ring that she liked. They picked out a nice ring (that was clearly NOT an engagement ring), Chris paid for it, and he asked the salesman to give him a box, because he wanted to give it to Amanda at dinner that night.
At dinner, Amanda kept wondering when he was going to give her the ring. She reminded him after dinner, but he said he wanted to give it to her after dessert. After dessert was over, he finally gave her the ring box, neatly wrapped. When she opened it, she saw it wasn't the ring they bought that day. Her face slowly turned from confusion into shock, and then into joy as she realized it was an engagement ring! After Chris proposed and Amanda said yes (of course!), their waiter informed them that the whole room had been watching and one of the neighboring tables had sent over two glasses of champagne. He also said the couple at the corner table was celebrating their wedding anniversary that night, and he had also proposed to her at Lala Rokh!
